I'm several hundred articles in, and still, 9 out of 10 won't get more than 500 views on Medium.

Occasionally, say, 1 in 100 posts, I'll get 100,000+ views (my biggest on Medium got 500,000), but for the most part, it's crickets!

Definitely gotta do it for the love of it if you plan on playing the long game.

Also, no views doesn't necessarily mean your writing sucks. The algorithm just isn't favoring.

I've submitted a dozen articles to publications like HBR that were no better, no worse, than what I typically publish here, and they got thousands of retweets on Twitter.

Distribution matters a lot!
